Caritronics, Inc. (“Caritronics”) was established in 1969 by Eugene B. Nelson, a former engineer at Lockheed Electronics Company Inc., who realized a need in the DC to DC converter market. With a strong background in magnetics, and the ability to apply that background to many different converter topologies, Mr. Nelson helped Caritronics become known as an expert in the DC to DC converter market from its early days.

From the onset, Caritronics worked on supplying companies with custom converters in varying fields: telecommunications, power, computer, biomedical, military and aerospace, designing and manufacturing small low powered ultra low noise converters that are still reliably running 50 years later.

In 1984, Richard P. Nelson joined his father's business and In 1995, he assumed leadership of Caritronics, and remains its President and CEO. Several years after Mr. Nelson assumed leadership, Caritronics began to offer RoHS compliant converters.

The success strategy for Caritronics remains "knowing how to use numerous topologies to create reliable, efficient ultra low noise converters". With a strong emphasis on R&D, Caritronics is able to continue to work with all industries. In 2019, Caritronics was thrilled to enter a new industry, developing several converters for equipment used in the Grand Opening of Disney Parks: Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

As Caritronics enters its 51st year in business, leadership prides itself on remaining extremely unique: designing and manufacturing exclusively in the USA.
